We’ve been running our glass business as a team for over 30 years. We overcame floods, the recession, and many “learning experiences.” Here you’ll get an inside look at how we make glass and run our business. We’ll showcase brand-new products we’re making and share our glass and artistic life.

Thanks for visiting!

The 2015 Beer Bottle Beautification Project

The Streeters

On the first Saturday of every month, our glass studio hosts free First Saturday Glass Blowing Demos for the community. On a dreary rainy Saturday in January our good friend Wayne Fitzgerald entertained a crowd of over 250 visitors who came out to enjoy the free glass demos.

Wayne arrived at our home on New Years Eve with Tomato Pie from Corropolese Bakery, a 4lb. Pound Cake from a bakery in Philly and a fun collection of his beer bottle art and future beer bottle experiments.

I was amazed and intrigued by his new work and titled Wayne's demos the Beer Bottle Beautification Project. I then sent out emails and a few Facebook and Twitter posts. Who knew that we would garner so many visitors, positive comments and great publicity.

Wayne is an excellent speaker and teacher and enjoys sharing his passion for glass. We hope he can come back real soon and experiment more at turning mundane beer and wine bottles into works of art.

The First Saturday Glass Blowing Demos are a component of the Conway Open Studio Project.  The demonstrations are held 10 am - 4pm every First Saturday, October through May. Our goals are to raise the awareness of art-making as a career and to introduce visitors to entertaining, educational and fun art experiences in downtown Conway.

"This project is funded in part by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts."

Jelly Fish Chandelier

I have a love-hate relationship with the internet. Some might say, what’s to love? I’m an information junkie and design glass, that’s why I’m there everyday. I’m forever drawn into the data spiral. Discovering pics from around the world is a source of constant inspiration. Is that a bad thing? Yes, it can sometimes be addicting, that’s the part I hate.

My love affair with information began early. At age 9, my weekly treks to the library were only limited by the weight of the books I could carry. Back then, a five book limit also caused me great anxiety. I can still hear my mother warning me not to check out more books than I could carry home.

Today, whether you live in the middle of no where or you’re stranded at the airport, art is at your fingertips.

I think the internet and social media are great places to learn about art and design. We can now promote and share information with thousands of people in minutes! Conway Glass is keeping pace with marketing and product trends. We share tons of info on our Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram pages. Thanks to our friends and followers, our Jelly Fish Chandelier was our best performing post last month!

Did you know that 65% of our customers live outside of Conway? To make shopping easier we’ve added a SHOP ONLINE page to our website.

All prices include packing and shipping. Look for new products each month.

Visit us in the gallery at 708 12th Ave or call us at 843-248-3558.

We’d love to hear from you!

Barbara Streeter Artist Statement

The Streeters

I create my art with colorful yarn, fabric, thread and glass. My work enhances the landscape with whimsical patterns of color that connect us to a happy time and place.

My ancestors were glass blowers and my father was a pattern maker and designer of women’s wear. Our house was always full of projects in process; sewing, quilting, knitting, embroidery, and fabrics of many textures, patterns and colors. I became fascinated with color and pattern at a very early age. For this reason, my work is deeply rooted in these practices.
