The Magic of Blown Glass Ornament Making Fall 2023

Join us for "The Magic of Blown Glass Ornament Making" class, where we celebrate the artistry and beauty of creating handmade glass ornaments. Students will participate in a group class to learn the fundamentals of glass blowing, including the tools and techniques required to shape and manipulate molten glass. Our focus will be on creating stunning optic ornaments, with the opportunity to explore various transparent glass colors used for the optic mold. It's an exciting opportunity to learn a new skill and unleash creativity! October 20, 2023, class is available now!

Pop-Up Glass Gallery

Are you a glass art enthusiast who enjoys supporting local artists and businesses? If so, you won't want to miss the annual Pop Up Glass Gallery at Conway Glass! Conway Glass has been serving the community for over 30 years. The Pop-Up Glass Gallery is a highly anticipated event annually, showcasing the studio's original handblown glass ornaments. This year's event is scheduled for Saturday, December 2nd, from 10 am to 4 pm.

At the Pop-Up Glass Gallery, you can browse and purchase unique glass art pieces, such as ornaments, vases, and more. First up, we have our Leadlight Construction Workshop. This class is perfect for those interested in creating intricate leadlight designs. You will learn the art of leadlight construction, including cutting and mitering lead, soldering techniques, reinforcement, and finishing. This two-day workshop will give you the skills and knowledge to create beautiful leadlight pieces.

Beginner Stained Glass Workshop

Next, we have our Beginners Stained Glass Workshop. This class is great for stained glass students who want to learn the basics. You will learn to cut and shape glass, use copper foil, solder, patina, and finish. By the end of the class, you will have created your own stained glass sun catcher to take home.

Stained Glass Make and Take

Finally, we have our Stained Glass Make and Take Class. This fast-paced four-hour class is perfect for those who want to create a small stained glass piece. You will learn the basics of stained glass construction, including shaping glass, soldering, and finishing. Due to time constraints, we will not teach glass-cutting skills in this class. All glass pieces are pre-cut. You will have access to all the tools and materials you need to create a stunning suncatcher.
